The Story of Mrs. Aisyah
Mrs. Aisyah (below) is a widow whose husband died of the tsunami strike in last 2004. Aside of economic constraints, she is illiterate since no education attainment was achieved even to elementary level. A cow, as loan aid from ADRA, has become new hope for the family’s future, especially for her son. “At these times it is hard to be breadwinner. But with ADRA’s program, I have a hope for upcoming days of my son when the revolved cow is successfully reared. Thanks God for sending ADRA to my village,” she explained. Mrs. Aisyah shows that she is sincerely taking care of the entrusted asset, the loaned cow. In the morning she lets the cow to graze. At the evening, she will fetch the cow at the usual point or to look for it whenever the cow has not at home yet as habitual. She is used to clean the shelter in the morning after release or in the afternoon just before the cow returns. As a result, a male calf was born, adding a more excitement to her in breeding the cow.
